A curated showcase bringing together the very best of what contemporary Indian bringing together the very best of contemporary Indian Design, from the country’s leading designers, brands, producers, master craftsmen, artists, performers, and leading culinary brands to a phenomenon that will place Kolkata at the centre of India’s design landscape.
This year’s identity is inspired by basic historical elements and the details make the design. We used these icons as the basis of the graphic solution and created several patterns out of them. For the typographic solution we added an expressive handwritten style in contrast to the geometric typeface — Futura!
"The visual identity system was redesigned by Heyho using the Futura Std typeface. The geometric shapes of the san serif is in design contrast to the heritage location of the design festival. A bold typeface strongly emphasizing the modernist approach to Indian Design juxtaposing the contemporary approach to The India Story's curation.
The typeface is blend of robust and dynamic. Making it ideal for the diverse purposes of the event. Ranging from Print to Digital, and from publication to signage on location."
This typography system formed the basis of the design for The India Story for all subsequent years.
